Who We Are
The Tire Recycling Foundation is a broad based whole value chain initiative, led by the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association and the Tire Industry Association, committed to securing funding and allocating grants for research, education, intervention and demonstration projects targeting critical gaps within the tire recycling supply chain across the United States.
What We Do
The Tire Recycling Foundation is poised to play a pivotal role in expanding tire reuse markets and is actively advancing its mission, fundraising efforts, governance, research and programming.
Although significant strides have been made in scrap tire cleanup, the tire industry faces a challenge: Tire generation outpaces re-usage. As states explore EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) mandates and carbon reduction, coupled with the surge in electric vehicle adoption driving up tire scrappage rates, the Tire Recycling Foundation emerges as a trusted leader, ready to lead the charge toward sustainable solutions.
The Tire Recycling Foundation is uniquely positioned to be a convener of all relevant stakeholders from industry, academia, private corporations, foundations, regulators, recyclers, processors and distributors, to achieve critical milestones in tire recycling progress.
By championing innovative research and demonstration projects in emerging markets like rubber-modified asphalt and micronized rubber powder, we are paving the way for a more sustainable future. Through collaboration with stakeholders across sectors, from regulators to environmental advocates, the Tire Recycling Foundation is driving impactful solutions that benefit the tire recycling value chain and the environment.
