Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Ecore International, Inc.

 

Art was born in Heidelberg Germany and raised in Lancaster, PA. He graduated from American University, Washington, DC with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from the University of Pittsburgh with a Juris Doctor degree in Law. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland.

Art currently serves as the Chairman of the Boardand Chief Executive Officer of Ecore, where he has worked since 1989. Other companies he has worked for include Shearson Lehman in Lancaster, PA from 1979 to 1981 and Bain & Co in London, England from 1985 to 1988.

Art is a two-time Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award winner. In 2025 he was the Philadelphia regional recipient and was named a national finalist. Previously, he won the award in 1995. 

In 2024, Art was appointed to serve on the Board of the Tire Recycling Foundation (TRF) a collaboration between the US Tire Manufacturers Asso (USTMA) and the Tire Industry Asso. (TIA) to accelerate sustainable circular markets for end-of-life tires.  In 2018, Art was elected Director of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) and Chairman of the ISRI’s Tire Chapter. ISRI, a non-profit trade association consisting of more than 1,600 private and public for-profit companies, promotes public awareness of the value and importance of recycling in the production of goods and services worldwide. In 2014, Art was a co-founder of the Recycled Rubber Coalition (RRC), a national industry group which promotes and defends the reuse of rubber scrap. Art serves as Chairman of the Dodge Family Foundation.  Art also served three consecutive terms on the Lancaster School Board serving as President and Vice President. His is also the former Chairman of the Keystone Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

Art resides in Lancaster, PA with his wife, Justina, and two daughters, Sloane, and Camilla. Art also has 3 adult children: Marc, Natalie, and Emilie and two grandsons, Penn and Archie.
