This webinar series is brought to you by the USTMA in collaboration with the Tire Recycling Foundation, as part of broader efforts to educate, foster collaboration, enhance access to research and resources, and showcase best practices to accelerate the expansion of the end-use markets for End-of-Life Tires (ELT).
ELTs represent a major opportunity to advance the circular economy through smart, scalable recycling. According to USTMA’s 2023 ELT Management Report, tires remain one of the most recycled and reclaimed products in the country. For over 34 years, USTMA has worked alongside stakeholders to achieve a 94% reduction in end-of-life tire stockpiles in the U.S. However, the recycling system is not without its challenges, and as ELT generation continues to outpace consumption, active state ELT programs with an added focus on creating and maintaining these innovative markets is a beneficial and successful path forward.
Ground rubber consumes about 28% of all U.S. scrap tires, making it one of the largest and fastest-growing end-of-life tire markets. This webinar spotlights commercial products made from recycled tires, also called molded & extruded products, i.e., mats, flooring tiles, and other surface materials we encounter every day. With 25% recent growth fueled by innovations like odor-reduced and higher-quality recycled rubber, plus strong global market growth projections, these products demonstrate how recycled tires can deliver practical, sustainable solutions at scale.
